More About the Capital Improvement Fee

On August 1, 2020 NPPWD will implement a Capital Improvement Fee of $1.90 per month. Below is some additional information on why the fee is being implemented and what it will be used for.

Why is the fee being implemented?
Similar to your home, capital equipment tends to fail as it ages. As our system begins to age, we will be investing additional funds into our system. Proactive improvements are needed to ensure that our aging water infrastructure system remains in the best possible condition. Over the next 5 years, we plan to invest $4,304,665 in capital replacements, repairs, and enhancements. The Capital Improvement Fee will assist in funding these critical investments.

What will the fee be used for?
The value for all of NPPWD's capital infrastructure is over $51,000,000. Over the next 5 years, the Capital Improvement Fee will assist us in funding approximately $4,304,665 of capital improvements. During this span of time, investments are budgeted to be $1,701,500 in the Distribution System, $1,574,000 in Water Production & Storage, and $1,029,165 in Facilities and Equipment.
